Pace yourself
life won't slip out from under you
cause life is still beautiful even though I’m on the way- katfishdraws
I don’t know how to explain the feeling of always having your hands full.
The reason I write about rest so much is because I don’t believe I’ve fully experienced it.
Selah. Sabbatical. Press pause. Let the rhythms of grace lull you into peace.
I write letters to God on here,
but this one is to me:
Dear Tshego
there is so much fiery passion in this one little body of yours, often times I see, that you do not know how to keep yourself afloat from drowning into the deep of always having something to do.
this is purported by the overt fear that if you don’t hold it all now it will somehow slip between your fingers
This time, these experiences. That 19 or any age you’ve been before will somehow morph into a statistic of ‘what could have been done different’
this can either be crippling or put you into overdrive, limiting you or pushing you into gears that you were never meant to be in.
Pace yourself dearest one, contrary to popular opinion, you do have time, if Gods timing is perfect then it must mean that it can never be less than or more than. He has given you enough.
And that all that is meant to be will be, at its time, because the master of this universe governs your destiny.
and if you haven’t heard it before, here it is:
This beautiful life won’t slip out from under you, the years will never be a suprise,
Often times there can be a pressure to become or definitively decide who you are at what time
But what/who you are is on the way, to all God has prepared for you, and while on this way, there is so much beauty to be seen.
Never lose this very moment searching for another, never lose these beautiful experiences searching for ones that have been labeled to be better.
Pace yourself; you will arrive at the place God is calling you to. He orders your steps (psalms 37:23), you will hear a voice telling you to walk in this way(Isaiah 30:21), as he teaches you to number your days that you may apply your heart to wisdom(psalms 90:12) this wisdom is that the process is beautiful. Not everything has to be a solidity or a destination.
because life is still incredibly beautiful, even though you are on the way.

one of my favorite books that encapsulates this feeling of taking your time is Ezinne Zara’s, ‘dear 20 something you will unravel beautifully’, it reminded me of who held my life(God) and that as his promise - he makes everything beautiful in his time. You can trust him with that.

as a closing note; I hope the rest of your life is lived in intentionality(taking one day at a time), I hope you never feel rushed to become, you are on your way, and the view is really pretty from right where you are! Enjoy it!
-with all the love in my heart
